MADAM X - 2024
Madame X is an honor bestowed monthly on a club member who has given a great deal of time and talent to promote club activities. The recipient of this honor receives a free lunch.
January - Pat Dolan
This month the Madam X award goes to our Mighty Past President, Pat Dolan. Pat served as President for four years. She did an awesome job of leading us through Covid and onward and upward. Pat led with an unfailing determination exhibiting her excellent leadership skills. I’m glad I had the chance to serve on the Board with her, learn from her and become her friend. It will be difficult to fill her shoes (I’ll do my best.) Our heartfelt thanks to you, Pat, for being our fearless leader these past four years. Congratulations on being this month’s Madam X!
February - Lori Hutchins
This month I would like to recognize the hard working, organized, and calm Lori Hutchins. Lori has served as Auction Chairperson for the past three years and has agreed to chair again next year. She has been diligent about increasing revenue from this fund-raising event. Without this income, the club would not be able to offer all the fun things that we do. Lori is creative in everything she does...new ideas, new offerings, and of course, her fine handmade projects. Thank you, Lori, for sharing your talents with us. Congratulations on being this month’s Madame X.
March - Cindy Muma
This month I would like to recognize the cheerful, friendly, and positive Cindy Muma. She is always ready with a smile and a word of encouragement. Cindy takes the best pictures. She is always respectful to get just that right shot to make us look good. She works hard at every event making sure she captures all the fun. Then she edits the photos and shares them on our website. I love seeing all your smiling faces. Congratulations to Cindy on being this month’s Madame X.
April - Judy Onufer
This month I would like to recognize our knowledgeable and experienced treasurer, Judy Onufer. Judy works very hard to keep our finances in good order and meets every challenge head on. She is precise in everything she does. Her warmth and ability to make everyone feel welcome is appreciated. She enjoys getting to know new people. Be assured, “You’ve got a friend in Judy.” Congratulations to Judy on being this month’s Madame X!
May - Donna Carroll
This month I would like to recognize the witty, fun-loving Donna Carroll. Donna is always the first one to volunteer to help. We need a card sent, a new member called, or a treat for an event... Donna volunteers. She is our ever-efficient Secretary and my right-hand lady. Donna recently met with the women interested in outdoor activities. Now, we have a walking group that meets on Tuesday mornings. Yay, Donna! Congratulations to Donna on being this month’s Madame X.
June - Karin Erickson and Katie Shaw
This month I would like to recognize Karin Erickson and Katie Shaw. Together they provide us with creative centerpieces for our luncheons. Who doesn’t love winning their fun prizes? They have also introduced ice breaker activities at our luncheons. What a great way to get to know someone in a new way. Karin has been a great asset to our club for many years. She has taken on a variety of positions on the board. She has been a big support to our widows in the group; offering companionship and compassion. Karin is a wiz at technology, and I know has helped many with managing their phones. She is so encouraging and has a faith that can move mountains. Katie has developed a wonderful Summer Speaker Series. She had an idea and worked hard to bring it to fruition. Check out the schedule of interesting speakers in this newsletter. Katie is such a sweet person, always kind and supportive and always willing to help. She has assisted with many events and parties. Congratulations Karin and Katie on being this month’s Madame X.
July - Jaimie Schmeling and Donna Montbriand
This month I would like to recognize Jaimie Schmeling and Donna Montbriand for their fun planning and organizing of such great Events! They are full of creative ideas; they aren’t afraid to try new things and they are just plain fun to be around. Oh, and what a Festive Spring Fling, from the prizes to the Maypole to the decorations; nothing was missed. It was a wonderful way to say, “Hello Summer!” Both Jaimie and Donna are fairly new members and they have jumped in with both feet. Congratulations Donna and Jaimie on being this month’s Madame X.
August - Patricia Ferguson
This month I would like to recognize Patricia Ferguson for entertaining us with her theatrical voice at the Wine and Cheese. She is a real talent and fun to listen to and watch. We appreciate her sharing her gifts with us and she has many. Patricia is a newer member, and we are so happy that we are getting to know her and love her.
September - Carolyn Borchardt
This month I would like to recognize Carolyn Borchardt. She leads and teaches the Mah Jong group. The ladies have fun playing the game with new and old friends. Carolyn graciously teaches new members the ins and outs of the game. Thank you, Carolyn, for going the extramile. We appreciate you. Congratulations, Carolyn, on being this month’s Madame X.
October - Marjorie Gross and Joyce Roddy
This month I would like to recognize Marjorie Gross and Joyce Roddy. Together they planned the annual golf outing. They persevered on the hottest day of the year. All came off the course with smiles and stories to tell. Events such as this take a tremendous amount of planning, so we thank you, Marjorie and Joyce, for a successful golf tournament. We are fortunate to have you as members of SPANRC.
November - Linda Glaser
This month I would like to recognize Linda Glaser, our super awesome Party Line Editor. Not only does Linda do a great job with our monthly newsletter, she also sends out all the reminders and notices. Now added to her duties is Circulation. Everything she does and she does a lot, she does with grace, kindness and efficiency. Thank you for being so flexible. We are so fortunate to have Linda as our Editor. December - Jennifer Hazaert
This month I would like to recognize Jennifer Hazaert. Jennifer has done a wonderful job with Circulation. She will be ending her two-year term this year. Jennifer also served on the Nominating Team, helped at the Newcomer’s Event and hosted a fabulous Christmas party last year. In addition to all this, she offers great suggestions, keeps us on track and above all she is generous, caring and a friend to all. Congratulations, Jennifer, on being this month’s Madame X.
