MADAM X
Madame X is an honor bestowed monthly on a club member who has given a great deal of time and talent to promote club activities. The recipient of this honor receives a free lunch.
January - Coreen Smith

This month's Madame X goes to a most worthy person! Coreen Smith is a fairly new member who stepped up to fill a very important role (more important than the president) on our board - Party Line Editor. Coreen broke due to pressure (and possibly a little bullying) from some club members to be the new editor and we (especially Sandy - our "old" editor) are very grateful! Thanks Coreen - you are the GREATEST!!!
February - Peg Johnson

Those of you that attended February's luncheon know that I have been binge re-watching Game of Thrones in anticipation of the series finale in April. The rest of you have now been informed. My revelation of February's Madam X had a Game of Thrones theme that I will recap. The various leaders fighting for the title of King called for their bannermen to join their cause. As "Queen" of SPANRC, I called for my bannerwomen last year to join the SPANRC board. A few of my loyal subjects heeded my call (however, many did not and should have had their heads removed from their necks. But that is a subject for another day). One such loyal subject is a mighty woman indeed. A brave woman that deserves our gratification. This honor is bestowed to Lady Peg of House Johnson. Thank you for your service!
March - Janet Hamernick

This month's Madam X goes to a lovely and languid (I'm on a roll) lady who goes above and beyond for our club. We are very lucky to have her in our lives! Thank you to Janet Hamernick for once again joining the board as our Coffee Chairperson!
April - Christy Zweig

This month's Madame X is awarded to one of our youngest members (I still believe Coreen has it by a few years) - Christy Zweig! This fine young lady joined us about two years ago not knowing a soul. But we quickly warmed to her (at least I think we did). The one thing we like best about her is the ability to bully her. Side note: we bully in the nicest way! It took a little convincing and begging but she agreed to join our weekly bowling group and has never looked back. I personally would like to thank her for bowling because before her, I had the worst bowling average. Now that Christy is part of the League, I have the second worst bowling average. Thank you, Christy, for giving us a chance and joining SPANRC!!!
May - Karen Eno

The honor of Madam X goes to a most deserving recipient... Karen Eno. Karen is a sweet and kind person with fabulous taste in home décor. Those of us in the book club have been to her house several times and it is "to die for" (got to use those sayings so I sound more sophisticated than I really am)! Karen could have received the Madam X title for just being her wonderful self, but she went above and beyond and put together our June activity to Cooks of Crocus Hill. Thank you, Karen, for being the awesome person you are!!!
June - Susan Handley

It is with a tear in my eye that I award this month’s Madam X to one of our dearest members. Susan Handley has been an integral part of SPANRC, and she will be sorely missed. However, we wish her the very best as she begins a new journey in Washington.
September - Pat Dolan

This month’s coveted Madame X is awarded to Pat Dolan! No, she did not receive this award for dressing so cute, but if I was giving out an award for “Most Stylish” Pat would definitely be in the Top Three List. Pat was gracious enough to host our annual June Wine and Cheese. Thank you, Pat, for being the “hostess with the mostess”!
October - Diane Selbitschka and Dee McGregor

This month’s title is given to a most deserving dynamic duo - Diane Selbitschka and Dee McGregor! These wonderful ladies have made the annual golf outing a wonderful event for both golfers and non-golfers! Thank you, Diane, for organizing the event. Thank you, Dee, for creating such lovely prizes for all (even non-golfers). Everyone goes home a winner!
November - Margaret Mitchell

This month’s coveted Madame X goes to a member who goes above and beyond for us. We won’t mention that it’s because she has waaaaay too much time on her hands (I think she needs to get a job or join a non-profit). Or that she loves to shop and spend her husband’s hard-earned money and the club’s money. Or that she loves to be in charge. Let’s just say that Margaret Mitchell is a wonderful person! She has organized yet another fabulous Fall Fundraiser. Margaret also has much experience herding cats (both literally and figuratively). So Pat, if you need any pointers, don’t hesitate to ask. Thank You, Margaret, all your efforts are truly appreciated!
December - Cindy Muma

December’s Madam X goes to Santa’s most Selfless, Sweet, and Sassy Elf. This Elf has served our club FOREVER! She is always the first to volunteer to help (with a huge smile on her face)! SPANRC would not be the same without her. Huge “THANK YOU” to Cindy Muma! You are AMAZING!
