MADAM X - 2021
Madame X is an honor bestowed monthly on a club member who has given a great deal of time and talent to promote club activities. The recipient of this honor receives a free lunch.
January - Colleen Lange

As we start the new year, I want to recognize a club member who exemplifies hope, patience and kindness. This month’s Madam X is Colleen Lange. Colleen is one of the kindest, sweetest people that I know. She endured much hardship over the past year with her breast cancer diagnoses, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Her hope and faith helped her through what is a difficult period of recovery, losing her hair, and the pain associated with radiation burns. Her courage is a testament to patience and perseverance to overcome such trying circumstances. Congratulations Colleen. I hope to see you in 2021 in person!!
February - Coreen Smith

This month’s Madam X is Coreen Smith. Coreen served as our Party Line Editor for the last two years and did a fabulous job ensuring that each month the members receive club “news” the fourth Wednesday of every month. Coreen did this while still working full-time and raising a wonderful family. She has juggled her responsibilities with grace, patience and a love for being involved in SPANRC. Thank you Coreen for making SPANRC a success. I hope that once we can resume activities to see you at luncheons and coffees. Congratulations Madam X.
March - Janet Hook

This month’s Madam X is Janet Hook. Janet has been the leader of the Knotty Ladies Committee for the past couple of years. Janet is a wonderful lady, with a heart of gold. She has been a real inspiration to many of us the past few months. She became gravely ill in early December and in true Janet fashion, didn’t think it was a big deal. Through her stubborn Scandinavian heritage, many prayers, and modern wonder drugs she was able to beat sepsis and is on her way to recovery. Janet always has a ready smile for anyone she meets, she values her family, her 95 year old mom, her children, her time at the cabin and her friends at SPANRC. Thank you for sharing your laughter and your time with us in SPANRC. We love you Janet!!! Congratulations on being this month’s Madam X.
April - Jennifer Hazaert

This month’s Madam X is Jennifer Hazaert. Jennifer is a real inspiration. She is Grandma, babysitter, teacher and mentor to her grandchildren, children and many of us. While she hasn’t had much time for SPANRC recently, she has become adept at Zoom, teaching and juggling grandchildren’s schedules. I know she has had to relearn math and how things are taught today and she is doing a phenomenal job. I hope that as the kids get back to school Jennifer’s life will get back to a slower pace where she can enjoy retirement, being a Grandma and joining us at SPANRC. We miss you Jennifer! Congratulations on being this month's Madam X.
May - Karen Eno

This month's Madam X is Karen Eno. Karen is doing a FABULOUS job as the Party Line editor. We send her our column inputs and she does her dazzling work to add graphics and make the Party Line look amazing. In addition to her work as Party Line editor, in the past couple of months, Karen has embraced a role outside SPANRC that is truly amazing. Karen has been a huge help on the Minnesota Vaccine Hunter Facebook page, helping people figure out where to go to get vaccines. Through her work and other vaccine helpers, hundreds of people have been able to find appointments through pharmacies, health care providers, etc. Thank you Karen for all your work. We all appreciate you!!! Congratulations on being this month's Madam X.
June - Cindy Muma

The Month’s Madam X is Cindy Muma. Cindy has served for many years as our SPANRC Treasurer. During this time when we could not be together, Cindy has spearheaded a number of fun initiatives to keep our spirits up and to help us keep in touch with one another. She led the April “Spring Thang” which was a huge success and enjoyed by each of us who participated. Additionally, she has been instrumental in leading a “Movie Get-together” at the local Woodbury Theater. The move was fun, it was good to see friends and the popcorn, drink and sweet snack were fabulous. Thank you Cindy for all your work. SPANRC appreciates you!!! Congratulations on being this month’s Madam X.
July - Elaine Easley

This month, Madam X is Elaine Easley. Elaine joined the club only a couple of years ago, and she readily stepped up to join the board as our circulation person. We don’t mail the newsletter out to a lot of people, but Elaine reached out to everyone of them to ensure that they still wanted to receive the newsletter. I consider myself lucky to call Elaine a friend. She is a warm and loving person. She always has a quick smile and can truly be counted on when you need a listening ear or just a good laugh. Thank you Elaine for all your work. SPANRC and I appreciate you!!! Congratulations on being this month’s Madam X.
August - Lori Etelamaki

This month’s Madam X is Lori Etelamaki. Lori plays a vital role on our board as the Chair of Membership. Even though we have not been able to seek new members due to the pandemic, Lori has provided her expertise and her advice to the club on virtual events and is active in a number of the club groups. She has even hosted the July SPANRC picnic in her home and will be co-chairing the November Auction. Lori loves camping in her camper van and just recently took a cool trip to Colorado and Utah. She also loves doing Grandma “day-care” for her wonderful grandson Chase. I love Lori’s drive, enthusiasm and her great crafting skills. Thank you Lori!! SPANRC and I appreciate you! Congratulations on being this month’s Madam X.
September - Judy Onufer

This month’s Madam X is Judy Onufer. Judy is currently our SPANRC Secretary. She has been vital in helping us to move our club forward in using Google mail, Google drive and standardizing our club archives. Her knowledge has helped us all become more technology smart.I appreciate her sound advice and great counsel. We love having Judy on the board and love hearing about her fun experiences with her horses. She is an avid horsewoman and loves competing with her Nokota team. Judy is so special and I am proud to have her as my friend and a member of the SPANRC Board Thank you Judy!!! Congratulations on being this month’s Madam X.
October - Dee McGregor

This month’s Madam X is Dee McGregor. The success of the annual SPANRC Golf Tournament can be attributed to a truly giving and wonderful person, Dee McGregor. Dee single handedly contributed 36-40 prizes for the Golf Tournament. She uses her tremendous talent to arrange themed baskets, gift boxes, all themed Christmas, Halloween and many others. Her baskets are unique and special, many being Longaberger. Because of her generosity, the Gold Tournament was able to have three rounds of drawings and recognize two birdie prizes and eight low putt prizes. Dee also brought bags for people to put their prizes in and contributed to the great fun and laughter at the annual tournament. Congratulations Dee for being this month’s Madam X.
November - Karen Eno

This month’s Madam X isKaren Eno. This past month, Karen planned a phenomenal “Mystery Bus Tour”. If you have never done a mystery tour, it is a wonderful experience. For those of us who went, we were kept in the dark as to where we were going, and what we were doing. We met at the Woodbury 10 Theater, hopped on a coach bus and had a fabulous day exploring Bachman’s Fall house, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum scarecrows, had a great lunch at Buca di Beppo, attended an afternoon play at The Old Log Theater and ended the day with luscious custard at Adele’s. Thank you Karen for planning such an amazing day. You have planned several Activities for SPANRC over the past few months. Your talent for coming up with amazing things to do is greatly appreciated. Congratulations Karen on being this month’s Madam X.
December - Lori Etelamaki

This month’s Madam X is the incredible Lori Etelamaki. Lori took over this year’s auction and did a phenomenal job. Lori used her extraordinary organization skills to ensure that all aspects of the auction ran seamlessly. This included doing a turnover with the prior auction coordinator, developing plans for each part of the auction (brown bags, silent auction, heads or tails beads, 50/50, bookshelf. For those who have never planned an auction, it is more than setting up the auction categories, it is also arranging the venue, ensuring you have the materials, getting volunteers to assist before and during the auction, and having a well laid out plan for the day of the auction. Thank you, Lori!!! You did an exceptional job that is greatly appreciated by me and the entire SPANRC. Congratulations Lori on being Madam X.
